My life was out of control, and food was my addiction. I asked a friend for a recommendation for a personal trainer, and so began the story of my relationship with Ashlye Bergen and Fit U. The first month was really hard, Ashlye never made me feel bad about being overweight. Before each training session we would discuss what I had eaten and what I would eat after the session. On a weekly basis, Ashlye gave me a meal plan, and I had to complete my daily food log for review at the end of the week. My biggest struggle was eating enough, because before I made poor choices on what to eat and how often to eat.
Ashlye held me accountable for everything that I did, and always gave me the encouragement to move forward. After nine months of training with Ashlye, I lost 40 pounds and went from a size 16 to a size 6.
In January 2013, I had a total hip replacement, and thought that I would never be able to run or go back to the group workouts that Ashlye provides………I should have known that under the watchful eyes of Ashlye Bergen and the constant encouragement, that I could do anything I put my mind to accomplishing. For the first time in my life, I ran a 5K, 10K, and recently cycled a 25-mile race in the annual Hotter’n Hell event.
